We discovered the ancient Japanese art of fish rubbing - Gyotaku - during our worldwide travels. Inspired, we collaborated with artist Christine Allison to found The Real Fish Rubbing Company in Lyme Regis, Dorset.

Today, Christine practices "Gyotaku" to bring you our wonderful range of t-shirts featuring beautiful, individual images of some of Lyme Bay’s most memorable marine life.

Using freshly caught fish and shellfish from Lyme Bay, Christine brushes each fish with colour, overlays the fish with fabric and then carefully rubs it with her fingertips to create mysterious and uniquely realistic images, which are then transferred onto our delightful range of organic cotton t-shirts.
